Colchester Carnival was a free day out for all ages. The family fun day in Colchester Castle Park took place from 11am to 8pm and included music, dancing and other live entertainment.
The Carnival procession started at Abbey Field at 4pm then moved towards Butt Road, Head Street and High Street, finishing at 6pm at Colchester Castle.
A massive variety of procession entrants from dance groups, musical bands, businesses, historical societies, and cultural groups participated.
This is a charity event run by Colchester Round Table and Colchester Ladies Circle. Profits will be distributed as grants to good causes in the Borough of Colchester.
Sparks will Fly in Colchester has been working with Carol Gale School of Dance for their contribution to the procession.
